Louis Cross
COMPOSER • MUSICIAN

Biography
Louis Cross is a Bristol-based British composer specialising in music for film, television, video games and theatre. His music is deeply cinematic and narrative-driven, combining electronic sound design with live instrumental performance to create distinctive sonic worlds that serve the image.
Trained with a BA (Hons) in Songwriting at the British Institute of Modern Music (BIMM) in Manchester (graduating with a 2:1), Louis then pursued an MA in Composition for Film and Television at the University of Bristol, supported by the prestigious Snowdon Trust Master's Scholarship — one of only three scholarships awarded in the creative arts category, selected from hundreds of applicants across the UK for his academic excellence and potential.
His credits include the original score for the theatre production VOICE. Sealed. Shut (Young Identity), assistant composer for a multilingual adaptation of A Midsummer Night's Dream performed in Manchester and London, short films Scurrier (2025) and SIT (2025), exhibitions Serial Skiller (London, 2025) and Music In Cosmos (Royal West of England Academy, Bristol, 2026), as well as a contribution to the AHRC-funded Minecraft Music School research project at the University of Salford.
An active member of The Ivors Academy, the Musicians' Union and PRS for Music, Louis is also a passionate advocate for accessibility in the creative industries. Living with Charcot-Marie-Tooth disease, he works to create more opportunities for disabled musicians in media composition. His long-term ambition: to become the first disabled composer to win Best Film Score at the BAFTAs.
